Path command on CentOS

hmm.. i usually use ubuntu as my test server but now i use centOS. when i type $ifconfig there is an error “bash: ifconfig: command not found”, for a minute i am clueless but i know i use OS base-redhat, so i type /sbin/ifconfig to show all interfaces. it’s very troublesome if i have to type full path, so i edit .bash_profile in home directory

There should be a line similar to:
PATH=$PATH:$HOME/bin

Edit the line to read:
PATH=$PATH:$HOME/bin:/sbin

or other way, use simbolic link :
ln –symbolic /sbin/ifconfig
but you have to be root first.
